How to Create Ads for PPC

Pay per click ads are one of the most challenging short copies to write for your business. Many copywriters will tell you that this is the most challenging aspect of their business.

Most pay per click search engines limited the number of words you can use in a single ad so the ad has to be written in a brief manner with strategically paced keywords, benefits that are clear, and a call to action. If you can master this technique you will be able to optimize your advertising and create better sales conversion.

Include a Keyword in the Headline

Always include the keyword in the headline and leave out "fluff" words like "wow" or "amazing" that people would never type into a search query. The keyword should be specifically targeted and descriptive.

Make Your Headline Count

The advertisement needs to contain an attention grabbing headline which clearly communicates the purpose of your product and a solution to the reader's problem. Know your product and come up with a hook pertaining to your product that will grab the reader's attention.

Use Power Words

Instead of using superlatives, use words that invoke emotion in your reader like "proven" or "breakthrough" or "easy."

Be Clear About Your Product or Service

Clearly communicate what your product or service is about by writing in a clear or concise sentence structure. Make certain that the ad speaks directly to your customer and conveys the purpose of your product. Perhaps ask a question in your ad to get the reader directly involved.

Tell People What to Expect

Communicate to the reader what they can expect and then design the landing page to meet the expectations you have promised. Make sure the landing page effectively relates to the pay per click ad and the keyword your customer used for the search query.

Be Honest

Write the ad so it speaks to your reader and then design the landing page so it speaks to the reader in a conversational style. This will help to emphasize your honesty and build trustworthiness with your prospect.

Prove Your Claims
Any claims that you write in the pay per click ad, make sure you back up your claim on the landing page.

Test Your Pay Per Click Ad
Make sure you write several different pay per click ads for the same product and then test them by rotating them. The analysis tool will tell you which one is performing better and you can keep that ad and discard the one that is not performing as well.

Call to Action

Create a call to action in the pay per click ad. Instead of saying "click here" say something like "request information" or "get a free report." The call to action should offer the reader a reason for clicking through to your website.

Offer Benefits

Your pay per click ad should offer benefits to your reader. People always want to know what is in it for them. Determine the most compelling benefit of your product or service and make it the highlight of your ad.

Benefits should invoke feelings in the reader and act as a trigger to take action. For example, "Buy a New Car" or "Have Your New Car in Your Driveway Tonight with NO Money Down." The second ad has you thinking about it because it appeals to your emotions and demonstrates two benefits: quick and no money down.

If you keep these tips in mind for writing an effective pay per click ad, you will come up with an ad that will boost your conversions to sales. Although pay per click ads are short, when written well, they can be very powerful.
